I am writing with a complaint about the coverage reality in the Asher*Wanette Ok area*Cell phones are a crucial part of a first responders equiptment in this day and age. They can be tethered to laptops for use with mobile data terminals or, used with various applications to track calls for service and even police officer’s locations during traffic stops. I belive that with an AT&T tower located at Highway ** and Acme road within line of site of my city we should have substantialy better access to your network. I personally pay several hundreds of dollars for service with AT&T a price that I’m sure is the same as someone in the OKC metro area with the same number of lines and features that I have but, for some reason I’m not allowed the same service quality that they have. **How are the people of my community supposed to “mobilize their lives” while experiencing dropped calls, in ability to use mobile data, having to leave where they are to go home or to their offices to call someone back on a landline in order to have a conversation that doesn’t involve having to ask someone to repeat themselves several times? How are First Responders supposed to “mobilize their lives”when they can’t use their “mobile” phones to communicate with dispatch or each other effectively a mile and a half away from the closest AT&T cell tower. What about “rethink possible” I for one do every time I go to another city and my “mobile” phone works in the way that I expect it to. But despite several calls to AT&T customer care and promises of research into the problem nothing has changed**For these reasons I request AT&T to send a representative to my community and hold a meeting that addresses our concerns both in civilian and first responder aspects and develop a plan with us to provide a better customer experience. In the mean time we will continue not to trust AT&T’s network, and expect it to have a high potential of not working while we are in dangerous and potentially life threatening situations.**We were told at one point to start using an application called mark the spot but despite many members of our community making several complaints nothing seems to have been remedied.**Sincerely,*Bradley Rogers *Lieutenant Asher Police Department**Major Asher Fire Department **** *** *****B*****@***.com
