Hello. A few months ago I purchased an ATT hotspot for my cabin. Upon receiving it, I tried to activate it but it would not activate. I called customer service and was transferred * times and hung up on twice. Extremely frustrated, I packed up the device and took it to the ATT store in Leesburg, VA, where employees tried to activate the account. It still could not be activated, and I was told it's possible there was a glitch when I registered the device (ie. Never confirmed an email, never created a passcode). They helped me return the device and I was emailed a confirmation of receipt of the device. I was told I would not be charged since I never activated or used the service. Now, I have received a bill in the mail. I called customer service to explain the situation and was told somehow the account was activated. I said that's not possible, I returned the device because I couldn't get the service activated in the first place. I was told this wouldn't be a problem, they would cancel the account and waive the fees. I have just now received a "past due" bill in the mail, and am furious that I am being charged for a device that ATT failed to activate in the first place which led to my returning it. I have NOT ONCE used this service because I returned the device merely days after receiving it. I will not be paying these bills for a service I have never used and have tried repeatedly to terminate this rogue account. If someone could please cancel the account and waive these unjust fees so I never have to deal with ATT again that would be great. The account number is ************. I can also send proof I returned the device immediately. Thank you, Carly.
