To cancel your AT&T account you will need to call into support. But before, you should find another provider and check to see if your number is portable, meaning you can bring the phone number to another company.

How GetHuman-ceich fixed the problem
Go to att.com*transferbill and select the first option* you can then select which line to transfer out, and the recipient name and email. You then have to receive a PIN via text message (to a line you select) and enter it.**At that point the request is handed off to the recipient for completion within ** days.
