To cancel your AT&T account you will need to call into support. But before, you should find another provider and check to see if your number is portable, meaning you can bring the phone number to another company.

I cancelled all of my ATT and direct TV services at the end of May when I moved out of my house and my one year contracted ended. I clearly emphasized to the representative that I spoke with that I wanted to cancel both my ATT and directTV services, however yesterday it caught my attention that for the past three months I have still been billed for directTV. This is despite mailing in all DirectTV and ATT hardware I has, as I was instructed. Now it has been nearly impossible to speak to a representative about my problem. I need the charges from the last three months put back and my card and I need my services to be completely and actually cancelled for good. My name is Stephen Weppner.
