Re: Account * *** *** **** *** * Plain old telephone service (POTS).*On ******** I opened my mailbox and found my phone monthly statement dated ********* for amount due $*.** due in full ******* (universal CA Lifeline), covering the service period Jun ** thru Jul **--This is the only bill for this period I have received in my mail. I noticed that the due date is past, so I immediately paid online on ******** without asking why I received the bill so late. On reflection, the envelope was opened*retaped, but it was lying in wait inside the mailbox located in the common area of my townhouse complex. Could it be the mail person put it into the mail box cluster by mistake -- happens often* only to redeposit into my box correctly by whoever the person first picked up in their mailbox?*Whilst my prompt online payment solved the subject bill, my action does not seem to have solved the payment demand of $**.** billed *********, being total due in full by Aug **, **** in which it details, inter alia, an "Adjustments of $*.** or late payment charge" representing a hafty **.**%, repeat **.**% of the $*.**.*I am very saddened by how AT&T have treated its customer whose on-time payment record on file indicates his commitment to pay before due days. I ask that you kindly verify what payment record online (January **** to any date prior to ******** that reveals a clean and healthy history. I did inadvertantly and beyond my control make a late payment this time. Can anyone says he doesn't make a mistake in his life?*For the above reason, I respectfully request you to reverse, cancel your late payment penalty imposed on my account.*Thank you for your favorable consideration.*John Lam
