To cancel your AT&T account you will need to call into support. But before, you should find another provider and check to see if your number is portable, meaning you can bring the phone number to another company.

I have been trying for over * weeks to transfer billing from my husbands name to mine on our home phone*internet account as to obtain the employee discount. I have gone thru every possible route to get this done including, your transfer billing site, customer service, tech support, and spent * hours in store with * managers!!! No one....... I mean NO ONE has been able to make this transfer!!! We have spent endless hours on this process and even the ATT employees have tried in person and can't figure out why it doesn't work. Can you please help us make this transfer. We don't want to lose our home phone number so canceling and opening a new account is not an option. PLEASE HELP! Please do not send me a link to ATT.com*transferbilling. Everyone has tried this for us and its not working. I need someone to make this transfer for us.
