The issue in GetHuman849613's own words
My girlfriend had lost her iPhone * several months ago, she paid on her insurance policy and received a replacement. Shortly thereafter she found the previously lost phone. She had accidentally dropped her new phone a week or so ago and temporarily switched her SIM card into the old device that she had rediscovered. The device did not work because it was locked from the AT&T network. An hour or so ago she had her new iPhone * ,that had been dropped a week prior, repaired and the SIM card placed back into it but the device is still functioning improperly and cannot receive texts, calls, or access data. When an attempt to make a call is made an error message saying that “the device cannot connect to network” is relayed

GetHuman849613 did not yet indicate what AT&T should do to make this right.
