The issue in GetHuman-slarman's own words
I need to relocate my U-Verse modem. I am in the process of moving apartments and I need to unplug it in order to re-position the furniture. When I had the thing installed on Tuesday **********, your technician told me if the modem ever gets shut off you would "send a truck around to check it out and charge me $***." I think that is bull$hit but in the interest of cooperation and communication, I am letting you know I have to unplug the modem for about ** minutes. I AM FULLY AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON! DO NOT SEND A TECHNICIAN OUT TO CHECK ON IT! I will have the modem back online in about ** minutes.**By the way, thank you for having a **-* tech support phone line that is closed the day after a holiday. Makes things really helpful (and deceptive).
