What are the hours and when should I call?

Square operates the call center for this 855-700-6000 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Wednesday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 401 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Square phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Square staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.
The least busy time to call
The least busy day to call Square is Saturday. The most busy day to call is Tuesday, which averages 108% more phone calls by comparison. Again, this is based on a sample of 401 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

My Experience Calling 855-700-6000

Sep 18, 2023

Calling Square's customer support was fairly easy. While I think the customer service could have been more enthusiastic, I was able to get my questions answered, and it did not take much time to get a live agent on the phone who could help. I assumed that they should have a live customer helpline because they deal with real-time business transactions, but sometimes companies can surprise you. So overall, I was pleased that despite being a mostly digital company, it only took me a little over a bit over a minute to talk to someone.

Square is a customer payment service that can be used by small business owners, small non-profits, large businesses, and everyone in between. That means there is a big need for customer assistance. Everyone will have a varying amount of familiarity with the technology and software, so while some people may be able to set it up and go, other people might need help with technical support.

Given that people can also make transactions at any time of day, it seems to me that live support should be offered at any time of the day. I called on a Friday morning, which is a fairly typical time to reach customer support, so that in particular I cannot speak to, but I do know that for being a prime time, it still only took me a minute to get help.

My reason for calling is simple: My daughter is involved in a gymnastics club, and we are talking about hosting a bake sale. Before hosting the sale, I wanted to make sure that Square would be a good choice for us. It was important that I would be able to accept both credit cards and tap-to-sale mobile apps because I assume most of our base will depend on their phones at meets.

When I called, it thanked me for calling Square and then told me that if I am calling for help with a new issue press one; if I am calling in for an existing issue press two. I pressed one, and then it stated that if I am an existing customer, press one, and if I am considering signing up with Square, press two. I pressed two, and then the recording said, "Calls may be monitored for quality assurance." There was a brief call, and a customer service agent named Dolores answered the phone. It was unbelievably quick, and while she wasn't very enthusiastic, she answered all my questions.

More Ways to Contact Square Customer Service

There are of course other ways to contact Square customer service besides the phone. Below we list the best ones, by medium.
X (formerly Twitter)
@SQSupport - Customer Service
Company Twitter feed
Square, like many companies, provides customer service on the X platform (formerly Twitter). While it rarely entails live dialogue with a customer service rep, this channel can yield rapid response times and can be a useful option if you have an X/Twitter account.
Square's website
As a last, sometimes only, resort- Square customer service can be accessed through their website. This can entail digging through help articles before finding a form and "being allowed" to submit a problem to their team, and rarely leads to a real-time conversation, which is why GetHuman does not recommend this unless it's the only way.
