An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Sheraton Hotels phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Sheraton Hotels staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

My Experience Calling 888-625-5144

Apr 9, 2024

Calling this number actually connects you directly with Marriott Bonvoy's customer service department, as Sheraton completed a merger with Marriott in 2016 with Marriott as the surviving company. This number does still work; it will just take you directly to Marriott's customer care team even though the Sheraton brand still exists.

If you are a member of Marriott's rewards program, the automated system will recognize your number and ask you to confirm that you are the person whose number is on your account. You will then be asked to confirm your zip code so that the system can confirm your identity. From there, you can make a reservation, check your points balance, check your member status and several other things. I checked my points balance and found it was where the website told me, then asked to speak with a representative.

When I connected, I asked how long before a stay I would have to avoid cancellation charges if I needed to cancel a future trip. He said that once I was booked, I would be able to cancel up to 48 hours before my trip at most hotels, with some offering a 72-hour window before I would be charged. That applied unless I had prepaid my reservation, as once I had paid in advance, I could no longer cancel and avoid charges. I thanked him for confirming the information and hung up.

Overall, I thought this was a helpful and informative call. I got the information I wanted and was easily able to navigate through the automated system. There was no wait time and the system didn't have any issues picking up what I was saying. Based on this interaction, I will absolutely continue to use this number should I need customer service from Marriott in the future.
