From its inception, the GetHuman movement has been an all-volunteer effort to improve the lamentable state of present day telephone customer service. The site was established and is maintained as a free service to consumers.

This work has never been for the goal of profit. We have attempted to be a voice of the consumer that is entirely independent of the suppliers of telephone self-service.

The GetHuman movement in the past introduced the GetHuman standard. Our recent testing for compliance indicated that very, very, few of the organizations that are listed in the customer service database are in compliance with the GetHuman standard.
