This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 58 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Sharp phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Sharp staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

My Experience Calling 800-237-4277

Dec 5, 2023

My dishwasher has been acting quite erratically, and at this point, I don't think that it is a user error. Sometimes, it runs a full cycle, and other times, the cycle seems to end in just 5 minutes. In addition, sometimes when I open it, there is still water sitting at the bottom of the dishwasher. The dishwasher is only a few years old, so I really don't think that I should be having issues with it yet. That's why I figured that I would call Sharp and see what they could do for me about the situation.

I know that Sharp makes a lot of different types of household appliances from TVs to microwaves to tea makers, so I wasn't quite sure how the phone call was going to go. I didn't know if I would end up on hold for a while or if I was even going to be able to talk to someone. Sometimes, you end up getting told to make a claim or something in these types of situations and nothing ever happens. Either way, I figured this would be worth a shot. It didn't turn out to be too terrible of an experience, but the agent had a very thick accent and was clearly outsourced.

When I first called, the voice assistant greeted me by saying, "Thank you for calling Sharp Electronics Corp. Visit us at our website Sharpusa.com for information on our products and answers to your most frequently asked questions." It then went on to give me a few options stating, "For customer service, product repair, or parts and accessories sales, press or say 1. For your nearest Sharp authorized location, press or say 2. For extended warranty information, press or say 3." I chose 1 because that seemed to cover all the bases, which led to another menu.

This menu gave me a bunch of additional options including, "For appliances, press or say 1. For TVs, press or say 2. For interactive whiteboards, professional projectors, or professional monitors, press or say 3. For cash registers, press or say 4. For home office products including printers, press or say 5. For home entertainment or audio products, press or say 6. For solar, press or say 7. For general inquiries or support on your calculator, please contact Victor." The Victor thing was actually kind of odd, but I didn't need calculator assistance, so I just ignored it and pressed 1 for appliances. Then, it asked me if I was calling for commercial or consumer appliances, and I answered, "Consumer appliances."

I finally got to my last menu. This time, it asked me for an oddly specific list of options. Maybe their microwaves, air purifiers, super steam ovens and tea makers have the most problems. I didn't need help with any of that, so I chose the last option for more appliances and was instantly connected to Whitney. She had a very thick accent but did offer me some service options and troubleshooting suggestions.

More Ways to Contact Sharp Customer Service

There are of course other ways to contact Sharp customer service besides the phone. Below we list the best ones, by medium.
Live Chat
http://www.sharpusa.com/Support.aspx - Customer Service
Use this link to connect with customer service via chat
If phone-based customer service is not available, or the wait times are long, many people prefer chat as a next-best option. Some even prefer it to calling on the phone. Luckily, Sharp provides this option.
X (formerly Twitter)
www.twitter.com/SharpSupportUSA - Technical Support
Use the link to connect with customer service through Twitter
Sharp, like many companies, provides customer service on the X platform (formerly Twitter). While it rarely entails live dialogue with a customer service rep, this channel can yield rapid response times and can be a useful option if you have an X/Twitter account.
Sharp's website
As a last, sometimes only, resort- Sharp customer service can be accessed through their website. This can entail digging through help articles before finding a form and "being allowed" to submit a problem to their team, and rarely leads to a real-time conversation, which is why GetHuman does not recommend this unless it's the only way.
