Calling the Domino's phone number to get assistance can be difficult, as you're limited to using it during east coast business hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you call outside of this window, you can only use the text support bot to get assistance.

Given that most people eat pizza either for lunch or dinner, this seems very inconvenient. For anyone outside the Eastern Time Zone, a bad experience with an order for dinner means you'll have to call the next day to reach someone to make it right. By that time, the evening has already passed and you probably had to make alternate plans. Even for a family in the Eastern Time Zone, any order that arrives after 6 p.m. is already outside the window where someone can offer assistance.

Using the bot can also be awkward, as it's mainly meant to connect you with the support team online. When you call and are given the contact information for the bot, the bot sends a text message to whatever phone number you want. It then asks you what you're calling about so it can tell the support team, allowing you to provide whatever details you want.

However, the bot only follows its preset list of questions. If you explain what you're calling about, the bot immediately asks if your feedback is regarding an order. When I called and got the bot, I asked how I could sign up for a rewards account. I still got the same question, and after being asked my e-mail, I was asked if the e-mail I had provided was tied to a rewards account.

It's clear that the bot is not meant to help you reach a solution; its only function is to direct your information to the online support team so they can contact you later. That's better than no assistance at all, but it really doesn't give phone customers much in the way of timely support. By making customers wait until the next day to speak to a live person, Domino's has increased the chances that the issue will get lost in the shuffle and no solution will come from the phone call.

Offering customers a way to get support is a good thing, but it only makes sense if help will be there when people are going to use the product. By restricting calls to working hours on Eastern Time and offering limited help otherwise, Domino's has reduced its customers' ability to get issues solved. I would not use this number to get assistance if I needed it.
