My Experience Calling Compaq (HP) at this Number

Calling Compaq (HP) was one of the easiest tasks of my day. In fact, it took me less than two minutes to reach a live customer service agent. It's always a relief to get to a live agent quickly, especially when you call a line that's supposed to offer live help. Many major tech companies these days don't actually offer live support and, instead, direct you to online resources, so this was an amazing find for me.

It's even more amazing that I was able to get to a live agent from Compaq (HP) because there are so many different reasons that a person could call. People can need help with their printers, laptops, tablets, or HP Instant Ink subscriptions to name just a few. Plus, a customer can need help with sales, learning product details, or attempting to have items repaired that are still under warranty. I can easily imagine the company having hundreds of calls a day, but it still keeps the process streamlined and easy for customers.

Right now, I only own an HP printer that uses the HP Instant Ink program, but if I were to buy another computer or upgrade my printer, I would certainly consider staying within the HP brand. I really doubt I could get this level of responsive service from another tech company.

Contacting Compaq was very simple. I called, and an automated voice stated, "Thank you for calling HP, Energy Partner of the Year for Sustained Excellence." Then, there was the standard message telling me that I could press something to hear the message in Spanish. Then, the message said, "Your call may be monitored." This was the only time something odd happened — there was a VERY long pause. In fact, I started to get concerned that I had been disconnected. 

Suddenly, a new voice AI spoke and stated, "Hi, I am an automated system that can connect you with a live agent." Then, it basically told me that I could say a short sentence and it would connect me to the right customer service agent.

So, I said, "I want to talk to someone about my HP Instant Ink subscription," and it immediately responded, "Let me connect you to an agent." After just a few seconds of classical hold music, I was connected to a woman named Siddhartha. She had a thick accent, but she was very helpful and answered the questions I had about my ink subscription. It only took me a minute and 17 seconds to get to the live agent in all, which as stated, was remarkable.
