What are the hours and when should I call?

Chevrolet operates the call center for this 800-222-1020 phone number Mon-Sat 8am-9pm ET. The short answer is that you should call on a Friday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 194 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Chevrolet phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Chevrolet staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.
The least busy time to call
The least busy day to call Chevrolet is Friday. The most busy day to call is Monday. Again, this is based on a sample of 194 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.
The shortest wait on hold
We measured the shortest hold times to be on Wednesday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Tuesday.
The best time to call
In summation, the best day to call Chevrolet is Friday. This is not the day with the shortest wait on hold in the phone system, but we still recommend it for its ideal combination of low call volume and short hold times. Plus we believe that Chevrolet staffs the call center well on Friday.

My Experience Calling 800-222-1020

Dec 29, 2023

Calling Chevrolet for a customer service concern is a simple process, thanks to their streamlined phone system. I called to learn more about a program Chevrolet offers providing college students with discounts on new cars and trucks.

As soon as I called, an automated recording directed me to press 9 for Spanish or wait on the line for English, adding that my call may be recorded. Following this, the system prompted me to say in a few words my reason for calling. Options can be anything from account information and financial assistance to vehicle warranty and special offers.

Unsure of the exact name of the discount program, I said the words 'college offers' and was told to wait for the next available advisor. After about 5 minutes, a representative answered the phone and asked how I could be helped. I explained that I was interested in learning more about Chevrolet’s college program as I have a teenager who is considering college.

The rep shared that the program offered through General Motors, Chevrolet’s parent company, provides discounted and low-interest financing on select new cars and trucks for college students and recent grads as part of the College Appreciation Offer. Only certain vehicles are eligible for the program, he said, adding that the list of cars and trucks for lease or purchase is available on Chevrolet's website.

Only students who are currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or have recently graduated qualify for the discounted program. In addition, he went on to share that spouses of college students and recent grades are eligible to benefit from the program, which can offer interest rates as low as 2 percent. I told him this sounded like a really great deal for a college student or even as a gift for a new grad.

The rep directed me to Chevrolet's website where I could find the complete list of guidelines and rules for the program, letting me know I would first need to create an online account to access an authorization number for the program. From that point on, I'd need to consult with a local dealership based on vehicles available as part of the program and complete the necessary purchasing/leasing process, he told me.

After providing me with the direct web link to read more about the next steps, the rep asked if I needed more information, and I replied that he answered all my questions. Ending the call, I hopped online to set up an account. The 15-minute call was very productive, thanks to a highly knowledgeable customer service rep who was patient and accommodating.

More Ways to Contact Chevrolet Customer Service

There are of course other ways to contact Chevrolet customer service besides the phone. Below we list the best ones, by medium.
Live Chat
If phone-based customer service is not available, or the wait times are long, many people prefer chat as a next-best option. Some even prefer it to calling on the phone. Luckily, Chevrolet provides this option.
X (formerly Twitter)
@chevrolet - Customer Service
Use this link or copy and paste it to send customer service an email
Chevrolet, like many companies, provides customer service on the X platform (formerly Twitter). While it rarely entails live dialogue with a customer service rep, this channel can yield rapid response times and can be a useful option if you have an X/Twitter account.
Facebook / Messenger
https://www.facebook.com/chevrolet - Customer Service
Use this link or copy and paste it to send customer service a Facebook message
Some customer service teams, like that of Chevrolet, accept inquiries through Facebook Messenger. This is a good option if you have a Facebook account, and you may even be able to converse live with an agent this way.
Chevrolet's website
As a last, sometimes only, resort- Chevrolet customer service can be accessed through their website. This can entail digging through help articles before finding a form and "being allowed" to submit a problem to their team, and rarely leads to a real-time conversation, which is why GetHuman does not recommend this unless it's the only way.
