Verizon: Company Reimbursing Customers For Mystery Fees

HomeConsumer blogOct 2010Verizon: Company Reimbursing Customers For Mystery Fees
To all of our Verizon Wireless customers, check your upcoming statements for October November to see if you are being reimbursed for being charged mysterious data fees. According to the company, a defect in the company's phone software charged 15 million customers data fees, when they were not using the data plan. If you are unsure whether or not you were charged these excess fees, check your upcoming statements for reimbursement of $2-$6. The total settlement for Verizon Wireless is costing somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 million. The charges were made to customers who did not have data plans and who opened mobile websites and should not have been allowed to open the sites and thus should not have been charged. The company also told the FCC that these charges may have accrued over the past couple of years.

As always, if you have any questions about whether or not you are being charged, visit our Verizon Wireless page. For more on the Verizon Wireless reimbursement for excess data charges, Click Here.
