Verizon Wireless: Public Service Announcement

HomeConsumer blogMar 2010Verizon Wireless: Public Service Announcement
Just a heads up to all you Verizon Wireless customers out there, you could soon be the target of a growing credit card scam. In recent days, Verizon Wireless customers in a small town in Ohio have received random phone calls from people asking for credit card information, in order to reactivate a card that has been deactivated for "suspicious activity". DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION! While this is a small scale scam, customers should be aware of such activity that is happening. Scams like this come up from time to time, often affecting more than just Verizon Wireless, but customers need to be smart about what information they give to callers. As always, if you have any questions about any credit card related charges or activity, call your credit card company.
