To all our
Ford Motor Company F150, F250 and Lincoln Blackwood readers, there may be a recall on your vehicle. The company announced today that it is recalling 1.1 million pickups that were sold in cold weather states due to a faulty metal strap that holds the gas tank up. Apparently salt can corrode the strap, causing the gas tank to drag or drop and eventually catch fire. According to the company, there have been 8 fires already because of the corroded straps. If you have a F150 model purchased between 1997 and 2004, or a F250 purchased between 1997 and 1999, or a Lincoln Blackwood purchased between 2002 and 2003, you may be getting some mail from
Ford Motor Company in the next few weeks. The latest recall follows the companies most recent recall of similar series pickups that had a problem with air bags deploying unexpectedly. For those of you affected by this latest recall, the company announced that the recall will occur in September as it doesn't currently have enough parts on hand to fix the problem. As always, if you have any concerns whatsoever, or have any questions regarding this recall, feel free to contact the company using our tips
