You know what? It's been a while since we've had a large automotive recall. It seems like last year, there was a Toyota recall every couple of weeks. Well, it's a new year, and a new company with a recall. To all you Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey owners as well as the Ford Escape owners, listen up. Well not all of you, specifically the owners of the 2004 Ford Freestar and the 2005 Mercury Monterey as well as the owners of the 2001 and 2002 Ford Escape, your cars are being recalled by Ford. That's over a half million cars in the recall. The reasons for the recall, according to Ford, are that the Freestar and Monterey have problems with the torque converter which could fail and cause a loss of power, and the Escape has a faulty brake fluid cap which could leak and catch fire. These are serious issues, so be on the lookout for a mailing from Ford about what to do in case you happen to own one of these models. As always, if you are even the slightest bit concerned or have any questions at all about whether or not your car is being recalled or how this may affect you as an owner of the vehicle, feel free to contact Ford.
