Consumer Reports: Naughty and Nice List

HomeConsumer blogNov 2010Consumer Reports: Naughty and Nice List
Right in time for the holiday season, the writers and editors at ConsumerReports.org have released a new list of Bad (Naughty) and Good (Nice) companies in terms of customer service. While there were no official metrics used in compiling the lists, the writers who cover various aspects of customer service have picked their favorite and not so favorite companies based upon customer service policies. The Nice list holds companies like Southwest Airlines and it's free luggage program, as well as Hotels.com, the company does not charge a fee for booking a room through their site. The Naughty list has repeat offenders like Spirit Air who basically charge customers for everything, and Verizon Wireless who recently doubled the early termination fee to $350. The list provides some interesting insight as it is basically compiled by customers such as you and me, so consumers can begin to see which companies have it figured out in terms of customer service, and those that are just plain clueless.
