<title>Spirit Air: Pretty Soon They'll Be Charging You Just For Looking at the Planes</title>

<summary type="html" ><![CDATA[Now this is getting ridiculous.  You want an example of a company that doesn't have a clue?  Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you <a href="/Spirit_Air-customer-service_733.html">Spirit Air</a>.  The low cost air carrier that charges for every thing on the plane including water, and now a $45 fee for a carry-on, is planning on charging for customer service.  Yes, customer service.  The company's explanation for the move is simple, they claim they are trying to strip out as many costs as possible in order to offer the lowest rates on flights.  On paper that's a fine argument, but one of these days they are going to see a drop-off off from fed up customers that have taken too much.  While the actual price of the flight may be lower, once the fees for the luggage, carry-ons, water and other service considered regular business are added up, I'd love to know how the care fares in terms of a competitive ticket price.

As of right now, they only thing the company isn't charging customers for is using the bathroom...and I'm pretty sure they are trying to find a way to do that.  There's a fine line between giving customers a low price option and angering customers by charging for standard amenities and <a href="/Spirit_Air-customer-service_733.html">Spirit Air</a> is definitely pushing the limits.  Of course, now if you want to complain to the company, it's going to cost you.  Is this bad business or is it so ingenious that <a href="/Spirit_Air-customer-service_733.html">Spirit Air</a> could be transforming the way companies do business?  My gut tells me these guys are crazy for doing such a thing, but by insulating themselves from everything, including customer service complaints, the company could truly be giving the customer the option to choose whether or not to fly with them?  The company is essentially challenging the customer to choose between flying with them and facing charges for everything, or going to find a cheaper flight somewhere else.  <a href="/Spirit_Air-customer-service_733.html">Spirit Air</a> has essentially told the customer, "Don't like the way we are doing business?  Go somewhere else".  It will be interesting to see what happens with <a href="/Spirit_Air-customer-service_733.html">Spirit Air</a> and whether or not customers will say "enough is enough" or if they'll continue to fly with <a href="/Spirit_Air-customer-service_733.html">Spirit Air</a>.
