Currys (UK) tip: We ordered a fridge on a Thursday and were told delivery would be on Monday. Nice automated system to determine when in the day it would come - a four hour slot. Two hours before the end of our slot we had a phone call saying they wouldn't be delivering but it would be re-arranged for the next morning (day 2).

Nice for those who take time off work to receive a delivery.

Next morning - no update to the automated system so phoned Currys Customer 'Service'. Call centre woman couldn't be bothered with anything. Said it would come the following day (2 days late, 3 days off work!). When pressed (hard) she bothered to phone the depot to insist on a day 2 delivery - they relented but they couldn't/wouldn't set a time slot. When pressed (harder) she contacted them again and they said 'Sometime before 7pm'.
It arrived at 5pm.
Moral of this story - 1) Curry's Customer Service are rubbish; 2) They don't know the meaning of the word 'service'; 3) press them VERY hard and you might get a mediocre level of service; 4) give no ground!
