“I have been a loyal AOL customer for 12 years, paid my account on time every month, never once had complaint until Sept. 2009 when I had extra charges taken out of my bank account. I could not find a phone number to call, so I went to the live chat section. After much debate, I finally got a phone #. I called and the person I spke with said I had gone over MY dial up minutes. I said that was impossible, that I had broadband and I was the ONLY person that used this computer. They basically told me I was lying, that someone had used another screen name on my acct. and racked up several hours, to the tune of an extra $87. in charges. I tried to argue that no one had access or MY permission to use MY acct. It didn't matter, I was still liable for this charge. If I wanted to contest the charges, I would have to WRITE A LETTER to the main office, they didn't have an E-MAIL address to write to.
